Ridiculous.

It's ridiculous how cute this paper is. It's not new, but it is cute. So I decided to make it into our mini class project for tomorrow night's Girls Night Out.
Love love love the final product.
It's a super cute 12x4" waterfall style album for Girlfriend pictures. If you're not coming tomorrow night..... well, you should be jealous. Ridiculously cute.
Bring your pictures ladies!

Why?

Why does this always happen?
We almost always end up with a last minute cancellation before our events. Well, we've called everyone on the waiting list & no dice. So, first one to call can rest their bum in one of our seat at our Girls Night Out Crop tomorrow night.
There's margaritas, pizza, a mini class & lots of cropping time.

Love Love Love

So much love, I didn't want it to end.
Tonight Brian took me to see The Alberta Ballet presents Joni Mitchell's The Fiddle & The Drum. He had given me the tickets for my birthday.
Love love love.
It was so fabulous. So fabulous. I have always loved Joni Mitchell, and I have been begging Brian to take me to the ballet for years. And finally he did. And it was perfect. And you know what? He told me he liked it! He could even tell me specific parts that he enjoyed. I'm not saying he was commenting on their developpes or pas du bourree's, but he liked it.
My favourite was The Three Great Stimulants. Wow. So good.
If you can go, you should it is playing until the 28th. And man is it ever good.

New! Love love love Kaiser Craft.

I am addicted. And for 3 good reasons...
1. Double-sided.
2. Good price. (Has any one else noticed that most companies are jacking up their paper prices? You'd think they'd be going the other way in a recession.)
3. Lovely. Lovely patterns.

Here are three more lines that we have in store from Kaiser Craft.
Elegance, Jades Garden & Waterberry.
Love, Love & Love.

Alright, alright....

A lot of you have been asking for these two beautiful lines from BoBunny. So here they are. And yes, they are so beautiful. I can't wait to see what you ladies do with them.

Check out Beautiful Life (above) & My Darling (below) now in-store.
There's double-sided patterned paper, an accessory sheet & stickers to match.

Two More! 059 & 060

Miles is eating noodles tonight. It is priceless just watching him try to keep them in his hand. I feel like he is growing up so fast. And it makes me grateful to have such full scrapbooks for us to look back on someday. I know I probably take too many pictures. Which is just another reason this simple scrapbooking is working so well for me. I enjoyed my weekend away, I am enjoying putting the layouts into their albums & I am excited for Saturday (Girls Night Out) so I can get even more done.

More Layouts! 054,055,056,057,058

I had a busy weekend! Here are a couple more layouts I managed to get done...
(between glasses of wine, Crave cupcakes & massages)

Little Cracker by Haley Ross
I love these pictures. Miles has the most priceless faces. Who's kid is this?
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: making memories; Journal Card & Stickers: making memories; Pen: EK Success Zig Writer.
Little Monster by Haley Ross
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper, Die-Cuts & Stickers: October Afternoon;

Oh Baby by Haley Ross
I pretty much scraplifted this layout. I loved the idea. I just cut a big circle out of the paper with the Cricut & went from there. So much fun.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: My Little Yellow Bicycle, making memories, Daisy D's, Me & My Big Ideas, and October Afternoon; Stickers: 7 Gypsies; Pen: EK Success Zig Writer; Other: Brads.

Super Star by Haley Ross
Ok. I love these pictures. I hate this layout. It started off so well, I liked the idea of mimicking the pattern with the brads. That's where I hit a road block. I couldn't make any title work on such busy paper. So I took the easy way out. And now I hate it. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: My Minds Eye; Brads: Bazzill Basics & Heidi Swapp; Carstock Sticker: WeR Memory Keepers; Monogram Rub On: My Minds Eye.
Simply Irresistible by Haley Ross
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper & Rub Ons: Stampin'Up; Eyelets: WeR Memory Keepers; Rub-On Title: My Minds Eye.

Light Up Okotoks by Haley Ross
I actually love Light Up Okotoks. Our store isn't very busy because most of the action is at the other end of the street, but we have a good time walking around. And we always wait until the fireworks show to go home. These pictures are from the first year, when the store was so beautifully decorated. It just gives me warm feelings.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Sparkle Alphabet Stickers: Doodlebug; Brads: Karen Foster; Other: Sewing.

Joy by Haley Ross
I'll admit it, I am SICK of doing Christmas. I love the pictures, but I am really running out of ideas. And I haven't even started Miles' first Christmas. Sad really.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: Me & My Big Ideas; Brads, Ribbon & Rubber Charm: Doodlebug; Other: Transparency.

It's all in the details* by Haley Ross
My birthday is so close to Valentine's day, so I take the opportunity to fix things up pink. Which really worked out because I got to use some of the beautiful new pink glittery paper.
Old Stock? The glittery stickers.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Alphabet Stickers: making memories; Chipboard die-cuts: My Minds Eye; Patterned Paper: My Minds Eye; Heart: George Cricut Cartridge.

This was one of the best road trips of my life (even with the windy roads & car sickness). I took so many scenic pictures which I always find hard to scrapbook. And I love love love these HUGE rub-on brackets.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzil Basics; Patterned Paper: Memory Boutique; Rub-ons: Memory Boutique; Stamps: Technique Tuesday & Stampin' Up; Metal Tab: making memories; Stickers: 7 Gypsies.

10 Randoms... On time (for once).

I was away this weekend, scrapbooking at the Bloomin' Inn. And I cannot decide if timing was great (as Miles was sick) or terrible. Either way, I missed home. Here are
10 Things I miss when I am away:
1. My boys. Brian. Miles.
2. My bed. I miss the smell of our laundry detergent (lavender). I miss my fluffy pillows. I miss the soothing colors & the pillow-top mattress. Boy do I ever miss my bed.
3. Milk. It seems when you travel, you never drink milk. Soda. Water. Juice. Never milk. I love & miss a cold glass of milk.
4. Water pressure. Maybe this is just specific to Bloomin Inn, but I sure did miss being able to thoroughly rinse my hair :)
5. The Steam Cycle. It's perfect for refreshing clothes.
6. Cereal. (See #3)
7. My Heater a.k.a. Koho. He's our cat who always pre-warms my side of the bed.
8. Getting the mail.
9. A familiar path to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I'd be willing to bet somewhere around 90% of toe injuries occur in hotels. I hate "feeling" my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
10. My nightstand. Full of all the things I don't pack, but always need. Kleenex. Lip Balm. Hand Lotion. Advil. Batteries. Visine. Nail Clippers. I never think I'll need one of these things, and almost always do. But how do I know which one?

Love, Love, Love

Perhaps the best of today's paper is the Penny Lane collection. It's cute. I mean CUTE. My favourite series is the Chloe that is pictured below. I love this. Can't wait!

I am loving the Laundry Line. All of the paper is glittery. There are fabulous chipboard embellishments, stamps, trims & rub-ons to match. I just love it.
If the distressed & glittery Laundry Line isn't your thing, maybe this will be. Perfect for kids pages (I am loving the boys line!)

Back In Stock!

We've also re-ordered two popular Christmas/Winter lines that sold out too quick the first time round. Here is Snowed In (above) and Be Merry (below).

New!

The store is PACKED, I mean PACKED, full of new paper. And so far, all of it is from My Minds Eye. We love love love My Minds Eye.
Bloom & Grow (pictured above & below)

Bella Bella (pictured above & below) has two cute lines.
All of these lines have great matching diecut sheets. So matchy-matchy. So cute.

The picture doesn't do this heart-shaped pizza justice. For Valentine's dinner, Brian made me on of our favourite pizza's. Check it out. mmmmmmmmmm.
We discovered it while trying to be creative in Australia, and it ended up being fabulous.
What's on top?
Butternut squash (steam it first)
Spinach
Chicken
Avocado
Skim Mozzarella
Tomato Sauce
& Italiano Spice.

10 Randoms. A day early!

It's Valentine's Day! I'm a sucker for any holiday that involves decorating & celebrating. So, you bet I am celebrating Valentine's Day! The house is decorated & my Valentine is done, so I'm posting my 10 randoms early. In honor of the love-y dove-y occasion, my top 10 will be ridiculously sappy. Here it goes....

10 Reasons I Love my Husband, Brian.

1. He knows me more than anyone else. I know it's true & proof is in this year's Valentine's gift which is so perfectly me.
2. He let me decorate our master bedroom a little girly. And by a little, I mean A LOT.
3. He makes me breakfast in bed. Randomly. And his pancakes (pictured above) are fabulous and always come cutely stacked.
4. He has yummy smelling aftershave.
5. He once stood in line for and hour & a half to get me a cupcake.
6. He "gets" scrapbooking. I can't stand men who don't "get" scrapbooking. It's about ME & time for ME (and shopping). He "gets" that.
7. He notices little details that are important to me. (Like when I set the table with pretty napkins).
8. He's a sexy bitch.
9. He loves our son. He changes diapers, cleans up puke & mixes rice cereal.
10. He loves me. He told me so.

28.

I am 28. Yesterday was my birthday & I had such a good day. I spent the day with my son (who got me a card with his little giggles recorded onto it), visited my mom & sister-in-law, backed up my photos, went for a drink with my husband & had a good sleep. What more could a girl ask for?
A cake? Brian made that too! Lemon with cranberries. Mmmm. My favorite.
(Aren't the candles cool?)
The Ross family got me Canadian Tire Money to help me buy my weekend at Bloomin' Inn, Brian got me tickets to the Alberta Ballet (the Joni Mitchell show. Love!), I also got a zip drive for my computer (desperately needed), a pedicure (also desperately needed) and a light diffuser for my camera. See? Spoiled rotten. And I thought it would all end when I had kids!
Can't wait to scrapbook it!

Layout 046,047,048

Three years ago I decided to create an album (I saw the idea in a magazine) that had just one page for each year of my life. The single-page layout is mostly about the journaling, which sums up how I feel that year. My 28th birthday is tomorrow & I did my Me At 27 layout today (nothing like leaving it until the last minute).
I'll just add a little disclaimer: I only shortly posted the Me At 25 layout in my store. I took it down when I realised that some of what I wrote was a little opinionated/controversial for some people. Now, to be frank, I don't care if my opinions aren't the same as everyone else's. I don't intend to offend. So, here are the three layouts that make up my smallest album. It took 3 years for three pages! If you don't like what I have to say, that's ok, it's not your layout, it's mine :)

10 Randoms

On Tuesday is my 28th birthday. So with that in mind, my theme for the week is

10 Random Things that happened when I was 27.

1. I had Miles. And my house filled up with stuff like Sophie The Giraffe, Big Toe (pictured above) and Jumperoo's. I trip over it all the time.

2. I waterskied, only 6 weeks after having a baby. I was really proud of myself.

3. I built-up some friendships. Kim & Tara, Teresa, Jesse, Lindsay and Tasha. And I kept the most important one, Juliana.

4. I spent most of my summer at Turtle Lake. It was one of the best summers of my life.

5. Our life got a couple other new arrivals: Isla & Hannah. We also lost Brian's cousin Mimi & our family friend Lori & a childhood friend Pam. 27 was a big year for unexpected losses.

6. I only cut my hair once the whole year. ( I know, I know)

7. I got very drunk at Brians Christmas Party. It was stupid.

8. I saw my mom in a new light. She was so helpful when I had Miles, and on many occasions since then. She also broke her ankle on my drirveway helping me out.

9. I read very few books. Usually I read a lot. I'll blame Miles for that one. My favourite books this year weren't "big-reads". I loved the Chelsea Handler books.

10. I cleaned my Scrapbook Room. At least 19 times. And each time, it was messy a day later.
